Cutting Edge selected for a new Solid Edge era

As part of a worldwide initiative, Siemens Industry Software (SISW) has conducted a through assessment of its Solid Edge business in the UK.

In recent times SISW has placed significant additional investment into its Solid Edge product suite. It has also increased its focus and commitment to that part of its business and plans a more vigorous and visible 'go-to-market strategy'. Naturally SISW wants to be sure that its certified resellers show similar commitment. Therefore, prospective new and existing suppliers were invited to share a plan that illustrated a commitment to a more focused and determined business strategy for the future.

As a result, SISW has awarded just two companies the right to continue to sell and support Solid Edge in the UK. Cutting Edge Solutions (CES), a well-established reseller since 1997, demonstrated that it has a Solid Edge technical team without parallel in the UK. It was also clearly evident that CES has gained an excellent reputation for customer support and conducts its business in a professional fashion. Additionally, with a first-class business infrastructure, it is clear that CES has the expertise and resource to expand in line with the renewed interest in Solid Edge.

CES Managing Director, Allan Blackwell, comments "Since forming our company in 1997 we have seen the Solid Edge business actually resemble a roller-coaster! The product's pedigree and functionality has always been at the leading edge of the mainstream CAD market, but with various owners over the years it has not had the focus and industry exposure that it deserved. However, since Siemens acquired the business a few years ago, we've not only seen the product continue to lead the way with it technology, but we're also seeing a serious commitment to taking the product to a wider market.
